AVELLUM acted as legal counsel to LLC “Baryshivska Grain Company” (“BZK”), part of the Grain Alliance group, in obtaining merger clearance from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for BZK’s acquisition of control over LLC “Med Ukrainy” and LLC “Organic Export”.
BZK is a leading Ukrainian agricultural holding specialising in the cultivation of grain and industrial crops, dairy production, and the manufacture and sale of plant-based food products.
LLC “Med Ukrainy” is engaged in the processing and wholesale of honey in Ukraine, while LLC “Organic Export” specialises in exporting honey to global markets.
Ukraine remains one of the world’s leading honey exporters. The acquisition is expected to support the continued growth of the target companies by expanding production capacity, modernising operations, and further strengthening their position in international markets.
Commenting on the transaction, Mykyta Nota, Partner and Head of Competition at AVELLUM, said: “We are pleased to support Grain Alliance in its strategic investment in one of Ukraine’s leading honey businesses. The transaction reflects continued investment in Ukraine’s agricultural sector and demonstrates how strategic consolidation can enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers and strengthen their position in international markets.”
The AVELLUM team was led by partner Mykyta Nota, with key support from managing associate Olha Samoilenko and associate Yulia Bulenok.
