AVELLUM’s Competition Practice recognised in GCR 100 – 2026

Global Competition Review (GCR) has once again recognised AVELLUM among the GCR 100 “Highly Recommended”, which ranks the world’s leading competition law practices.

GCR highlighted AVELLUM’s sustained strength in obtaining merger clearances and advising on complex, high-value transactions. The firm’s competition team was noted for its ability to navigate sophisticated regulatory processes and deliver results that support clients’ strategic objectives.

This year, AVELLUM advised Knorr-Bremse on obtaining merger clearance from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) for its EUR630 million acquisition of Alstom Signalling — a transaction enabling the company’s expansion into the North American rail signalling market. The firm also assisted Horizon Capital and NJJ Group in obtaining clearances for the consolidation of Datagroup-Volia and lifecell, forming a national telecom leader in Ukraine with a post-merger investment commitment of USD 1.5 billion. In a geopolitically sensitive matter, AVELLUM acted for UKRNAFTA through a complex approval process to take over Tatneft’s petrol station network, previously seized due to russian affiliations.

These recognitions reflect our team’s continued effort on complex and high-stakes competition matters,” says Mykyta Nota, partner and head of Competition practice at AVELLUM. “We are proud to support clients in transactions that shape strategically important markets and contribute to long-term economic resilience.”

GCR 100 is an annual guide that ranks the leading competition teams worldwide based on their expertise, notable matters, and market impact.
