AVELLUM receives two awards from the CEE Deal of the Year Awards

We are proud to share that AVELLUM has received two awards at this year’s CEE Deal of the Year Awards, announced on April 25 in Istanbul during the CEE Legal Matters Deals of the Year Awards Banquet.

AVELLUM won the 2022 Ukrainian Deal of the Year and the 2022 CEE Deal of the Year awards for its work on Ukraine’s Consensual Deferral of External Debt Worth Over USD 25 Billion. AVELLUM’s team was led by senior partner Glib Bondar, supported by managing associate Oleg Krainskyi and associates Mariana Veremchuk, Yaroslav Pavliuk, and Oleksandra Mohylna.

This deal holds significant importance for Ukraine, especially given its ongoing fight against Russia in the war Russia conducts in Ukraine.

The significance of Ukraine’s Consensual Deferral of External Debt deal was impossible for the two-tiered panel of voters to ignore, despite this year’s line-up of deals being the most competitive to date,” commented CEE Legal Matters Managing Editor Radu Cotarcea.

Senior partner Glib Bondar stated: “It was an honour to be a Ukrainian legal counsel to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the Private Joint Stock Company “National Power Company “Ukrenergo,” and the State Road Agency of Ukraine. These consent solicitations extended the maturities of Ukraine’s 13 series of outstanding Eurobonds, its outstanding GDP-linked warrants and Ukrenergo’s and Ukravtodor’s outstanding Eurobonds guaranteed by the state of Ukraine“.

The annual CEE Deal of the Year Awards are the most prestigious peer-selected awards for the legal industry in Central and Eastern Europe, recognizing the most significant deals in the region.
