The Russian invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war are causing a severe blow to Ukrainian and world economy. The economic crisis brought by the war has a significant negative impact on business and investment in Ukraine, which, in turn, affects the activities of every law firm in the Ukrainian legal services market.
Today AVELLUM, as well as most of our colleagues in the Ukrainian legal services market, are focused on the restoration of business, the country’s economy, as well as on the preparation of the process of reforming the legislation and bringing it in line with the European standards. The direction of work on bringing the aggressor to justice and compensation of all damages remains extremely important.
Given the circumstances, we have decided not to participate in professional rankings in Ukraine in 2022 (including the 50 Leading Law Firms annual rating published by Yurydychna Praktyka) in order to be able to focus on more important issues and help our country.
Since the establishment of the firm, we have been active participants of all most recognised Ukrainian and foreign legal publications. We respect the activities of international and Ukrainian legal rankings, deeply appreciate the transparency and impartiality in the coverage of data and results of their research.
AVELLUM believes in openness and transparency of the legal profession. By following these principles, in 2021 AVELLUM was ranked first in Ukraine in terms of income among law firms that agreed to publish their income data. This year, AVELLUM’s financial performance and the amount of taxes paid remain at the same level as last year.
For more than 10 years AVELLUM has remained one of the leading law firms in Ukraine in corporate finance according to the most prestigious international rankings Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
The recently published IFLR1000 ranking recognises AVELLUM’s finance and corporate practices among the best in Ukraine for 9 years in a row. Moreover, for two consecutive years, in 2021 and 2022, AVELLUM was named the Ukraine Law Firm of the Year by IFLR Europe Awards.
Despite the challenging times, the firm not only retained its core team but also expanded it to 85 employees. This year our team has significantly grown thanks to the annual Join AVELLUM summer internship, which resulted in 10 out of 11 interns receiving employment offers.
