AVELLUM supports Ukrainian Defenders Leadership CentRE at NaUKMA

AVELLUM has begun supporting the Ukrainian Defenders Leadership Centre (the Centre) at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA). The Centre helps veterans realise their potential after military service through education, professional development and new partnerships.

AVELLUM partner Vadim Medvedev, a NaUKMA alumnus, launched the initiative. The firm funds a scholarship for a veteran with a legal background. AVELLUM will also provide expert support for the Centre’s educational programme.

In September, Oleksandr Pryzenko, supported by AVELLUM, started the programme. Oleksandr has a legal background and serves as an officer at the Unmanned Systems Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His role combines legal and operational responsibilities with representing his unit internationally. He also focuses on fostering a culture of accountability, initiative and bold decision-making.

The Centre combines educational programmes and community building with partnerships across business, government institutions and academia. Its activities include the “Leadership and Resilience” certificate programme, training for businesses and government institutions and initiatives to embed a trauma-informed approach in working with veterans.

AVELLUM calls on the legal community and Ukrainian business to support veterans studying at the Ukrainian Defenders Leadership Centre through funding educational grants and expert involvement in its educational programmes.
