Tetiana Dukhovna Scholarship awarded to four Dnipro Municipal Law Lyceum graduates

The Tetiana Dukhovna Scholarship has been awarded for the second time. The scholarship covers part of the cost of studying law at leading Ukrainian universities for four graduates of the Municipal Law Lyceum in Dnipro (the “Lyceum“). The programme continues the work of Tetiana Dukhovna, the founder and first principal of the Lyceum, who pioneered legal education for school students in Dnipro.

The selection process comprised a written stage, independent assessment of the submissions and final interviews, with the successful candidates chosen by a selection panel. The competition attracted 14 Lyceum graduates — nearly three times as many as last year. This year’s recipients are Kyrylo Baibuz, Nazar Velychko, Daria Kobeza and Daria Rudenko.

Each scholarship is worth UAH 200,000. All four have already been admitted to the law faculties of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.

All three 2025 scholars will mentor the new recipients, and two of them also helped run the oral stage of this year’s competition.

The initiative has brought together Lyceum graduates, donors, volunteers and members of the legal community. Among its founders who continue to develop the initiative are AVELLUM partner Yuriy Nechayev and AVELLUM alumni Anton Polikarpov and Vladyslav Heivandov. AVELLUM associate Oleh Smetiukh serves on the selection panel and also contributes to the organisation of the competition. The scholarship is administered by the Tetiana Dukhovna Memorial Charitable Foundation, established in spring 2025 by her daughter and Lyceum graduate, Inna Yaremchuk

“In just one year, a community has begun to form around the scholarship — people who support successive generations of Lyceum graduates. It is particularly rewarding to see last year’s scholars joining that community: those who received support are now ready to pass it on,” says Yuriy Nechayev, partner at AVELLUM.

More information about the programme and ways to support it is available in the presentation

Congratulations to all four scholars, and best wishes as they begin their studies.
