M&A Academy

M&A Academy is an AVELLUM educational programme focused on mergers and acquisitions. The course explains how M&A transactions are structured and how lawyers work on them at different stages.

This is the 13th M&A Academy course. The course is organised in partnership with the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA), with the support of the Civil Law Research Centre of the Faculty of Law. Previous editions were also held in cooperation with the Ukrainian Catholic University, Institute of Relations and Law Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University.

The course is open to law students from all universities across Ukraine. Up to 200 students participate in the programme each year.

• 7 lectures in a hybrid format for students of all academic years:
  offline at NaUKMA; online participation available

• 5 online seminars for fourth-year students and above
• Seminars focus on key stages of M&A transactions and transaction documentation
• A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the final test

• How M&A transactions are structured and executed
• How to read and analyse key transaction documents
• The legal issues that arise in share acquisitions and joint ventures
• The role of lawyers at different stages of an M&A transaction

The course is taught by partners and lawyers from AVELLUM’s Corporate practice.
