We are proud to announce that AVELLUM received an award at this year’s CEE Deal of the Year Awards, announced on 2 April in Prague.
AVELLUM won the 2024 Ukrainian Deal of the Year for its work on unconditional clearance for NJJ Holding’s acquisition of Ukraine’s No. 1 fixed telco Datagroup-Volia and No. 3 mobile operator lifecell.
The group has launched a significant investment program, with around USD 1.5 billion investments in networks, licenses, equipment, and the expansion of fixed and mobile infrastructure in the country to accelerate future growth.
The combined entity provides mobile connectivity to nearly 10 million Ukrainians, while its fixed network will cover more than 4 million residences across Ukraine. The merger of Datagroup-Volia and lifecell will also enable consumers to benefit from a triple play offer, bundling mobile, fixed connectivity, and pay TV, improving quality of service and pricing and furthering the integration of European standards.
Mykyta Nota, head of competition practice at AVELLUM, says: “This recognition is a testament to the quality of our work and the trust our clients place in AVELLUM to handle complex and strategically important transactions. We are proud to contribute to transforming Ukraine’s telecom infrastructure and attracting large-scale investments supporting the country’s economic recovery and growth.”
AVELLUM’s team was led by partner and head of competition practice Mykyta Nota, with significant support from counsel Anton Arkhypov and associate Veronika Humeniuk.
