Counsel

Oleksandra Syerova is a Counsel at AVELLUM’s dispute resolution practice. Oleksandra focuses on representing clients in Ukrainian courts in disputes related to property rights protection, debt recovery, bankruptcy, and corporate and tax matters.

Oleksandra’s experience includes representing clients in commercial, civil and administrative court cases, developing litigation strategies, and preparing legal opinions on Ukrainian law for foreign jurisdictions. Oleksandra also advises on recognising and enforcing foreign court decisions in Ukraine and assists the arbitration team in matters related to Ukrainian litigation.

      Defended the interests of an Australian investor in a dispute over the shares in limited liability companies

      Represented a US investor in a bankruptcy case and related disputes regarding recovering multimillion-dollar debts from a group of companies

      Represented an Australian graphite and gold mining company in relation to the alleged breach of a corporate rights purchase agreement

      Represented a client in a tax dispute involving the cancellation of a fine exceeding UAH 200 million and other disputes related to the tax audit

      Advised a client on the prospects and consequences of litigation in Ukraine on invalidation of a foreign court jurisdiction clause in contracts

      Represented an international bank in a court dispute on the invalidation of a loan agreement and a mortgage agreement

      Represented a group of creditors in a long-running bankruptcy case and related disputes *

      Represented a client in several of court proceedings related to debt restructuring involving over USD 75 million *
