Four law students receive 2024-2025 Roman Ratushnyi Scholarship

Four law students receive the Roman Ratushnyi Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is the third year the scholarship has been awarded in honour of Roman Ratushnyi — a public activist and military intelligence officer of the 93rd Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar”, who fell defending Ukraine.

The initiative was established by several partners and professionals of Allen & Overy, Morgan Lewis, and Norton Rose Fulbright, with pro bono support from AVELLUM to honour Roman’s civic position and heroism.

Four students were awarded scholarships as a result of this year’s competition:

  • Myroslava Delita and Yuliia Lysak from Ukrainian Catholic University
  • Sofiia Turchyn from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
  • Nataliia Safarian from Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University

The annual scholarship amount is UAH180,000. The scholarship is awarded over two consecutive academic years.

As a rule, only one awardee can be selected from each university per academic year. In exceptional cases, the scholarship committee, with the consent of the respective students, may award two scholarships in one university.

In addition to academic achievements, we consider students’ social activities, such as existing social initiatives or plans to engage in socially significant projects. This year’s awardees provide free legal aid to military servicemen and internally displaced persons, take care of environmental protection issues, develop projects to preserve the memory of Ukraine’s defenders, and actively participate in student government,” the scholarship committee states.

We are proud of the scholarship awardees’ achievements and wish them continued success!
