AVELLUM HELD MEETING BETWEEN BUSINESS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF AMCU AND KYIV CITY COMMERCIAL COURT TO DISCUSS SYNERGY BETWEEN BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT

AVELLUM has launched a series of business breakfasts entitled “The Business and the Government: Synergy for Prosperity” to establish an effective interaction between the business and the government. 

This series of events was opened by a professional discussion called “Competition Brings Prosperity”. During the discussion, the participants addressed the most relevant issues related to investigations and consideration of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (“AMCU“) cases and special features of judicial protection while appealing against the committee’s resolutions. The event took place on 14 July 2021 and brought together representatives of companies from various industries.

The purpose of the event was to find ways of constructive interaction between the business and the government to ensure a predictable business environment.

Anna Kryvoshei, Director of the Legal Department of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, and Hanna Bondarenko-Lehkykh, Judge of the Kyiv City Commercial Court, spoke with the business representatives. The meeting was held in an open dialogue format during which the participants received answers to their questions. 

The participants discussed the following during the breakfast:
•          Principles of effective cooperation during investigations and consideration of cases by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
•          Special features of judicial protection while appealing against resolutions of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
•          Private claims for damages caused by violation of the competition law – a bleak future or a current present
